Lion’s Gate Portal - 18day Abundance Practice

They said Lion’s Gate Portal is opening and for 18 days from July 26th until the 12th and its when the cosmic energies are open to stronger manifestations so I decided to begin a small daily practice around the Lion’s Gate season (although I must admit I don’t really know it works 🙈)

Nothing particularly complicated so I can make sure I can stick through it.

Every morning, I would set an intention, journal for a few minutes, choose one small action toward the life and businesses I am building, spend a little time with nature (meaning my garden 😅), intentionally get dressed as the woman I am becoming, take one photograph, and dance to one very good (and occasionally very cheesy) song for two or three minutes then set ChatGPT to send me a daily reminder to do it.

What began as a manifestation practice quickly became something much more practical: 18 days of showing up.

The Practice

Every day looked different.

There were ‘dressed-up’ days and very ordinary ones. Workdays, admin days, errands, Sunday lunches, sourcing trips, cleaning, gardening, product development, photoshoots and days spent quietly at home. It coincides with my social media fast where I decided I work on my home reset so there were many days I’m cleaning up.

I didn't complete every meditation. I didn't perform every ritual perfectly. Some mornings I simply got dressed, danced around my kitchen, took my photograph and got on with the day.

And perhaps that was the point.

I started noticing that abundance wasn't necessarily something I needed to summon. There was already so much around me that I had stopped noticing: my home, my work, ideas becoming products, opportunities, people, knowledge, creativity, nature and the ability to build something from very little.

The dressing up

The most unexpectedly revealing part was getting dressed. For 18 days, I intentionally chose what to wear and photographed myself before beginning the day.

I thought I was documenting an identity transformation. Instead, I learned something wonderfully simple about myself:

I think I can confirm I am a dress girl.

Give me structure, a defined waist, a long silhouette and a beautiful pair of shoes and apparently I become considerably more pleased with life.

Who knew manifestation could result in a wardrobe audit?

The photographs also reminded me that becoming doesn't require dressing extravagantly every day. It means making choices with intention, whether I'm heading to a meeting, working from home or running errands.

The Soundtrack 💃🏻

Every morning had a song and for two or three minutes, before emails, work, numbers and responsibilities had their say, I moved.

Sometimes elegantly (at least I’d like to think so 😆). But probably mostly not.

There was September. There was Ariana Grande. There were gloriously cheesy classics. And you know what it's surprisingly difficult to begin a day terribly after you've already danced around your house at 7:30 in the morning!

What I’m Taking With Me

I don't know yet what will come from all the things I wrote down during these 18 days.

Some are small. Some are enormous. And I'm perfectly happy leaving a little room for life to surprise me.

What I do know is that this practice reminded me that manifestation without participation is merely wishing. Because the life I want will require consistency.

It will require showing up on ordinary Tuesdays when nothing particularly magical appears to be happening.

Most importantly it will require finishing things.

So maybe these 18 days weren't about opening a portal at all. Perhaps they were practice. A practice for sticking with the much bigger promises I've made to myself.

And one year from now, I want to come back to these photographs, these journal entries and this ridiculous little soundtrack and ask:

What did we build from here?

For now, Day 18 is complete.

And I showed up for every one of them. 🤍
