Purposeful Places: From Scroll to the Soulful
Yesterday, I took the time to connect with nature at the Wadi al Amardi Farm in Khawaneej. In my quest to live more outside of the scroll, fruit picking in a farm is an activity I would not mind driving 50 minutes to and spending a slow afternoon to calm some fried nerves down.
In my last post, we took a hard look at what it means to be chronically online—that dizzying cycle of refreshing feeds and feeling more connected to memes than to ourselves. But knowing you’re stuck in the digital loop is only half the battle, finding something offline that actually feels better than the dopamine hit of a notification can be a real challenge.
There’s something incredibly grounding about picking home-grown fruits, so fresh you can eat them as you pick! The farm is expansive greenery with many activities for the whole family from fig and mulberry picking, animal feeding, cinema nights, and children fun activities on weekends. There is also a small outdoor café: a shaded spot to savor a drink and the farm atmosphere — perfect for a mindful break or slow conversation.

I personally crave these simple underrated wellness activities that focus on the senses for the soul, the mind and the body. Fresh air, the sunshine, relaxing walk, interacting with the animals and the community, the art of noticing natures’ way, the sweetness and slight tartness of mulberries, the warmth of sunlight through the leaves, the rough texture of branches — these details brought me fully into the moment.. If the internet is a place of endless noise, the Khawaneej countryside is the ultimate mute button.
Much like Wadi Al Amardi, our mission at MYLITTLEWHITESPACE is to create a destination you would want to intentionally discover. Our quaint shop in Jebel Ali is a place that brings you to a sensorial experience where rediscovering the analog world makes worth of the drive and your stay with us. The tactile joy of creating your own selfcare rituals, the grainy texture of salt scrubs, the aroma of dried herbs — we aren't just a shop; we are a destination for those looking to swap screen time for 'making' time."
